RAIL commuters experienced delays this morning (Thursday) after a landslip blocked part of the Audley End to Cambridge line.

It led to cancellations of Cambridge-bound trains while engineers assessed the problem, although London-bound services were not affected.

A spokesman for operator Greater Anglia said the line was temporarily blocked while Network Rail attended and rectified the situation.

The line reopened at around 7.30am and train services to Cambridge were resumed shortly after.

Greater Anglia said a rail replacement bus service had been put on for passengers during the disruption.
