Police are looking for the owner of around fifty pieces of jewellery thought to be stolen, after they were found in a pillowcase behind a village pub.

A number of watches, as well as a Essex County Council commemorative coin celebrating UK citizenship, were among the items recovered outside the Yew Tree Inn in Manuden.A number of watches, as well as a Essex County Council commemorative coin celebrating UK citizenship, were among the items recovered outside the Yew Tree Inn in Manuden.

Police are looking for the owner of around fifty pieces of jewellery thought to be stolen, after they were found in a pillowcase behind a village pub.

A member of the public recovered the items behind the Yew Tree Inn in Manuden, before bringing them to Saffron Walden police station.

A commemorative coin, issued by Essex County Council and celebrating UK citizenship, was amongst the pieces, as well as a large amount of costume jewellery and a Swatch watch.

The theft has not yet been reported.
