A WOMAN was left with a fractured finger when two cars collided at the top of Saffron Walden High Street last Thursday morning.

Peugeot 206 struck head on, close to the war memorial.

Paramedics treated the driver of the Polo for her injury on the scene. The other driver was not injured and neither were taken to hospital.

PC Jane Mangnall said: "The incident occurred during the school run and so unfortunately caused a bit of chaos for motorists.

"The High Street was closed in both directions for about 20 minutes as the two cars were pushed to the side of the road.

"Paramedics checked out both parties and the cars were removed later that day.
