A pedestrian has been seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Linton.

The man, in his 40s, was crossing Balsham Road, close to the Post Office, at about 3am to 5am on Saturday (June 18) when he was hit by a car.

The male driver stopped and drove the pedestrian to Joiners Road, but left without leaving contact details.

Later in the day, the pedestrian was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, and had surgery to an open fracture to his right leg and ankle.

Detective constable Ian Butcher said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was around at that time of night and might have seen something. I also appeal directly to the driver of the vehicle who assisted the victim to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Cambridgeshire police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
