A QUACKING time was had by all at the annual Linton Duck Race on Sunday.

The event organised by the 1st Linton Scout Group has been running on the River Granta for 15 years. This one raised £400 for camping trips and equipment.

Group scout leader Barry Holman said: "Basically, we chuck a load of plastic yellow ducks off a bridge into the river, and the first over the weir is the winner.

"There were hundreds of ducks which were all numbered on the bottom. The lucky Kate Clark was victorious and went home with the £50 first prize.

Mr Holman would love to hear from anybody who is interested in helping with activities for the scouts, cubs or beavers.

He can be contacted on 01223 891961.
