Dunmow Bowls Club has donated hundreds of pounds to local organisations, after months of fundraising.

Both Dunmow Disabled Club and Dunmow Stroke Club received £400 at a presentation evening at the bowls club’s headquarters, in St Edmunds Lane.

Margaret Joyce, who accepted a cheque on behalf of the disabled club, said the donation would fund a trip to a London theatre for members.

Philip Milne, chairman of the Dunmow Stroke Club, said the club was grateful for the funds, which would be put towards its summer lunch.

The bowlers raised funds during their September tour around Devon and at a coffee morning in October as well as other club events.
