YOUNGSTERS of Henham and Ugley Primary and Nursery School got the chance to inspect an ambulance as part of the school's People Who Help Us topic series.

Student ambulance paramedic, Chris Cooper, of the East of England Ambulance Service paid a visit to the school on Tuesday.

He took the time to explain to nursery, reception and Year One classes, what role the ambulance plays. And he gave a basic demonstration of the medical and vehicle equipment that the ambulance staff use to assist them on the job.

He said: "It went really well - they were really keen to listen and had some really good questions to ask. I think they learned quite a bit about the types of incidents we respond to."

He added: "The East of England Ambulance Service is always appreciative of being called into schools to educate children as to what role we play in the community.

"We take great pleasure in providing that service alongside those we usually provide.
