A STANSTED plane heading for Glasgow airport was forced to abandon landing at the Scottish airport after the runway lights suddenly failed.
In total four planes, including the Easyjet Stansted to Glasgow flight, had to circle around as engineers repaired the fault at around 9pm on Monday.
Airport owners BAA said they had no idea what caused the fault, but an investigation was taking place.
The runway lights were back on by 9.30pm and eight more planes landed safely afterwards.
