Linton Heights Junior school pupils have been awarded the internationally accredited Eco Schools Green Flag.
They earned the award this academic year for their work to make the school more environmentally friendly and for raising eco-awareness in fellow pupils.
Pupils worked with staff member Mrs Clare Ball to assess how eco-friendly their school is including recycling practices, energy use and how the environment is covered in class.
They used this to plan a year's activities to improve their school, focusing on litter, waste and transport.
Mrs Ball says “We are looking forward to building on the work we have started this year and continuing to embed even more eco-awareness in the community.”
Eco-Schools England Manager, Adam Flint, said: “Earning an Eco-Schools Green Flag Award takes passion, commitment and a desire to make a difference.”
