AN ELDERLY lady suffered an injury to her hand after she discovered a burglar at her Saffron Walden home on Saturday night. (March 30)
The victim, a woman in her 70s, hit her hand when the burglar pushed her aside after she discovered him in a first floor bedroom at her home on Borough lane.
The burglar is believed to have climbed over a fence, onto Newport Road, to make his escape.
The burglar is described as being a white male, in his 20s and quite slim.
It is believed he entered the property through an unlocked conservatory door at approximately 8.15pm.
He was wearing a navy blue/black tracksuit with a fleecy scarf or high neck clothing.
He was also wearing a dark, woolley hat which kept slipping down over his face and black trainers.
A handbag, containing bank books, was stolen alongside £30 in cash.
