A man in his 90s had to be cut free from his car following a crash near Stansted.

Emergency services were called to the scene of collision, which involved one vehicle on the A120 bypass, shortly before 8pm last night (Sunday). Fire crews, from Stansted and Dunmow, used specialist cutting equipment to free the casualty by 9pm.

The man was treated at the scene by the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAS) and was later taken to hospital.

A spokesman for EEAS said: “We were called at 7.56pm. We sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle. We treated a male patient in his 90s for a back injury. He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital.”
