The winning candidates in the Elsenham and Henham ward for Uttlesford District Council are Rory Gleeson and Elizabeth Parr.
Councillor Parr, a stroke nurse rehabilitation nurse at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge said: “I was first elected four years ago, aged 21, to stand against large scale housing developments. I would prefer developments in keeping with the village and the infrastructure to support it.”
Ms Adams, who has been standing as Labour candidate in the area for the past 36 years, added: “It’s important for people to vote Labour if they want to.”
