The winning candidate in the Hatfield Heath ward for Uttlesford District Council is Mark Lemon.
Councillor Lemon since 03 said: “I’m sad I’m the only independent, I feel all councils need independent-minded people. We can say what we think without being told what to say by the parties.
“I’m pleased to be elected again. It was a good contest against the Conservative candiate and it was close call.”
When asked what one independent councillor can do at UDC, he said: “I think I can tell people things that perhaps they don’t want to hear.”
“I am glad to be elected again to represent Hatfield Heath and Whtie Roding,” he added.
