The winning candidates in the Littlebury, Chesterford and Wendens Loft ward for Uttlesford District Council are Robert Chambers and Julie Redfern.
Councillor Redfern said: “It was so nerve-wracking. I love Jan and it was really horrible to have found ourselves in that situation [competing] but I’m really delighted to have won. I hope that we’ll have a majority today and carry on with the good work we’ve been doing.”
