Engelbert Humperdinck and Wagner music to open Christmas concert

ENGELBERT Humperdinck's Overture to Hansel and Gretel and Wagner's Siegfried Idyll will open a festive concert for the whole family in Saffron Walden.

Uttlesforde Orchestra will perform at Friends' School on Saturday December 12 at 7.30pm.

Other items in the programme will include The Carol Symphony composed by Victor Hely-Hutchinson, Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Suite and Waldteufuel's ever popular Skater's Waltz.

The orchestra will be conducted by Richard Hull and led by Ysobel Latham.

Tickets (£2 for children, £9 for adults and £7 for concessions) will be available at the door or in advance from Tourist Information Centre on Market Square (01799 524002).
