THE snow may have bought large portions of the country to a grinding halt but enthusiastic volunteers at a community cinema were determined it would not close.
Twelve Saffron Screen volunteers cleared snow for three hours on Sunday (Feb 5) to keep the cineman open after the Saturday night’s snowfall.
Whilst it was heavy going, the enthusiastic team did their utmost to shovel, sweep and salt the entrance to the cinema all the way from Audley End Road.
Saffron Screen thanked the following people for their effort and good humour: Rebecca del Tufo, Charlie Gadd, Jonathan Gadd, Paul Gadd, Keith Inglis, Pippa Inglis, Julie Kendall, Amanda Lightstone, Andrew Skinner, Dan Thomas, Mark Vernon and Paul Willmott.
