FIREFIGHTERS battled for the best part of an hour to save a garage and workshop in Clavering which had caught fire.
Crews from Newport and Stansted were called to the outbuilding in Pelham Road shortly before 11.40pm yesterday (Sunday).
On arrival crews reported that the whole of the building was well alight, although by 1am the following morning the fire had been fully extinguished.
There is no further information relating to the cause of the fire at this stage.
