Witnesses are being sought after a driver died following a crash at Hatfield Heath
Emergency services were called to Pond Lane at about 11.10pm on Friday after a car left the road and collided with a tree stump.
The driver, a man from the Bishop’s Stortford area, suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow but died on arrival.
Pond Lane remained closed for about five hours while police investigation work was carried out.
Essex Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information about events leading to the crash to contact the investigating officer, Pc Dawn Senior, at SCIU on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk
