A HOMEOWNER came face to face with a burglar as he tried to break in.
The victim, who lives on The Street in Takeley, returned home at 7.55pm on Tuesday June 19 to find a man at the front door trying to force it open. After seeing the owner the man ran off.
He has been described as having short, light brown hair, clean shaven and wearing a light top and blue jeans. The victim added that the burglar made off in a black car.
