A MAN has been arrested by police following the theft of the ATM cash machine from premises in Swan Street, Sible Hedingham, this morning (Monday February 21).
Police were called just after 3am to the Total Service Station when a member of the public reported that someone was ripping the ATM out of the wall using a van.
Police located a van on the A131 which failed to stop for officers and was pursued along the A120 and was stopped near Stansted.
A 37-year-old-man (no address given) was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft and failing to stop for police.
The ATM was also recovered by police.
