AN ESSEX Police helicopter was called into action in the early hours of this morning (Friday) after burglars attempted to break into a house in Saffron Walden.
Residents reported being woken up by the noise as the low-flying helicopter continued its search for the criminals for about an hour.
A spokesman for Essex police said: “The Essex Police helicopter was called to an incident this morning at 00:30 in response to possible intruders at a property in the Elizabeth Way/ Radwinter Road area of Saffron Walden.
“The suspects made off and a search of the area was made by the helicopter and other police units. No arrests have been made.”
