A THREE-day event held at Ashdon Village Museum over the bank holiday weekend culminated in the first public showing of the village’s Roman hoard.

Now the property of Saffron Walden Museum, the treasure trove attracted a great number of people from far and wide.

Staff from Saffron Walden Museum were on hand to give detailed information on the hoard and answer the many and varied questions asked by a constant stream of visitors.

The whole weekend proved to be a great success, with wide range of craft stalls, stocked by museum committee members and friends, among the attractions. The event raised well in excess of �1000, which will be used to enable improvements to the facilities at Ashdon Village Museum.
