A SPECIALIST fire crew was called to Elsenham yesterday (Tuesday) evening to save a young woman from her sinking car.
The 19-year old was driving in Church Lane when her car left the road and plummeted into a pond at around 8pm.
Police attended the scene and, after reporting that the car was filling with water, called in the fire service.
Crews from Stansted, Newport and Harlow attended along with the specialist water rescue team from Leigh.
The woman was freed from her vehicle by around 8.44pm and left in the care of paramedics.
