EXPLORER Scouts, assisted by scouts and leaders, braved the wet and cold to play Christmas music in Saffron Walden to raise funds for an expedition fund.

The group has lost its funding to send youngsters on vital life-skill courses under the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Queens Scout Expeditions. A campaign to fill the 5,000-9,000 funding gap was launched earlier this month.

Musicians from the group raised 280 towards the target by playing in the market square on December 17.

Organisers would like to pass on their thanks to those who contributed and Jacqui Portway for her help.
