Hundreds of film-lovers descended on Saffron Walden last week for the annual Cinema in the Square screening.
This year, family favourite Shaun the Sheep took to the big screen, with Shaun himself paying a visit to crowds on the day, before a showing of science-fiction hit ET.
As well as film on May 28, there were also performances from the Pure Rhythm School of Performing Arts to keep audiences entertained, with bright red costumes lighting up the square.
And although the event saw a brief rain shower, nothing could dampen the day which also welcomed local food stalls for visitors to tuck into.
Cinema in the Square aims to raise awareness about shopping locally and making the most of Saffron Walden’s facilities.
The event is organised by Saffron Screen, Saffron Walden Town Team and the town council, and is sponsored by partner organisation and Audley End Miniature Railway and follows last year’s successful screening of musical hit Hairspray.
