FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a huge blaze involving a number of vehicles, industrial buildings, tyres and cylinders at an airfield.
Twelve crews, including appliances from Dunmow, Stansted and Leaden Roding, were called to Matching Green Airfield at around 12.10pm after a fire was reported to have broken out in an area of tyres measuring 50 metres by 50 metres.
A fire spokesman said: “The incident commander reports that the fire involves a range of industrial buildings and a number of vehicles. Water supplies are proving to be a problem for crews and the High Volume Pump is now on its way to the incident.”
