Fire crews extinguish blaze in thatched house in Elsenham

This afternoon (Wednesday), firefighters tackled a blaze at a kitchen fire in Elsenham.

Two fire crews - one from Dunmow and one from Stansted - attended the incident at the thatched house Tye Green Road after they were alerted to the blaze at 12.47.

The fire was contained to the kitchen, and did not alight the thatched roof of the property.

Using hose jets, crews had extinguished the fire at 1.30pm this afternoon.
