The fire broke out in a storage building at MDPGA and four crews from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service – two from Braintree, one from Wethersfield and one from Halstead – were called to the site at 2pm.
They were joined by a command support unit from Basildon.
It was reported by the incident commander at 3.15pm that the building, which contained 11 cars, was “100 per cent ablaze”.
The fire was extinguished by 3.23pm and crews remained at the scene until 5pm damping down.
