Some 10,000 people enjoyed the annual firework display and bonfire on Saffron Walden Common on Saturday, organised by Saffron Walden Round Table and sponsored by local businesses.
The super-hero-themed bonfire is lit up by the opening glow of the fireworks.
Thankfully the weather didn’t stop the display going ahead and the show was choreographed to a brilliantly mixed sound track.
As well as the fireworks, the evening included food stalls and a steam fair.
