Five year-old Kaitlin Ayliffe from Broxted decided to have her long hair cut short on Saturday (September 26) and has given her locks to The Little Princess Trust which makes wigs for children suffering from cancer and other illnesses.

Kaitlin, a pupil at Elsenham Church of England School, had her hair styled by Amy Dye at Ronnie John’s Hair and Beauty in Sawbridgeworth. The hair was made into a plait so it could be sent off to the charity.

Kaitlin’s mum, Amy said: “When Kaitlin went to school she wanted to have her hair short like some of the other children.

“We thought it was a waste to put eight inches of hair in the bin so we sat her down and asked her if she would like her hair to help someone. She said: ‘If I can make a little girl happy, then I will be happy.’”
