Flights out of Stansted were cancelled today as the two-day French air traffic controllers strike continues.

Passengers were faced with the cancellation of a further 23 flights today, as the SNCTA union called the strike over working conditions.

A spokseman for Stansted Airport confirmed 22 Ryanair departures have been cancelled and one Easy Jet flight to a range of destinations include Spain, Morocco, France and Lisbon.

Yesterday saw the cancellation of 12 Ryanair departures and one Easy jet departure out of Stansted, and passengers were contacted by text and email to notify them of the changes.

The spokesman added: “Passengers are advised to check with their airline before they travel. The strike is expected to end today and hopefully airlines will be operating full schedules tomorrow.”
