FRIENDS’ School Charity Ball, held last summer, raised the impressive sum of 9,000 which was divided between the school and the charity Accuro.

Accuro is a local charity which helps families who have a child or adult with a disability.

The Ball Committee, chaired by Jo Willmott, attended a school assembly and presented a cheque for 4,500 to Karen Shefford, chairman of Accuro, and a cheque for the same amount to the school.

It was explained to pupils how the funds raised would help the charity and how it would go directly towards helping families in the local area.

Head of Friends’ School, Graham Wigley, thanked the committee for all their hard work and commitment.
