STUDENTS at Friends’ School in Saffron Walden were celebrating some outstanding GCSE results today (Tuesday August 24).

The school achieved a 100 per cent pass rate with 84.2 per cent of all grades being A* to C which was in line with last year’s results.

Out of all the students in the year 83.7 per cent passed five or more subjects at grade C or above.

“On the whole our students can feel proud of what they have achieved,” said headteacher Graham Wigley. “Behind these headline figures there are many individuals who have achieved fantastic results for them. I know that quite a few were very apprehensive about how they have done, so it was good to see the smiles once they’d opened their envelopes.

“We are going to have a super lower sixth form next year, eager to build on all that they have achieved so far.”
