MEMBERS of staff at Saffron Walden s oldest funeral directors have been recognised for their long service and valuable contribution to the company. Four employees at H Peasgood & Son, on Shire Hill, were presented with long service awards at a recent staf

MEMBERS of staff at Saffron Walden's oldest funeral directors have been recognised for their long service and valuable contribution to the company.

Four employees at H Peasgood & Son, on Shire Hill, were presented with long service awards at a recent staff meeting.

Managing director Gary Neill said: "As a local company, we always do our utmost to provide the best possible service and highest standards of care to families who need our assistance and through these awards, H Peasgood & Son are proud and pleased to recognise the dedication of our staff and the valuable contribution they make to the success of our company."

The awards were given to staff who had worked for five or more years at the company. Manager and longest serving employee, at 13 years, Phil Warner, said: "It was wonderful to be recognised in this way and to receive the award from our chairman Bart Robinson was an honour."

Other winners of the award were; Derek Bayford with five years' service, Reg Burton with six years, and Arthur King who has

worked for the company for seven years.
