Gallery’s last hurrah before winter

A family drawing day called Whizzzz was held at the new extension to the Fry Art Gallery, during half-term.
The workshop was for children to make simple optical toys as part of the national Big Draw event on October 24.
The free event was held at the Fry’s additional gallery space The Fry Art Gallery Too in the Old School Room, Museum Street, Saffron Walden.
Sixteen children and their parents and grandparents came along and made simple Victorian optical toys, whizzzers and flick books.
The Fry Art Gallery has held similar free events for families on previous Big Draw occasions as well as providing out-reach activities and visits for local schools. The gallery’s annual Exhibition and Sale takes place this weekend on November 11, 1pm-5pm and Sunday, November 12, 10am-4pm. The Fry Art Gallery Too will be open during week-ends from Saturday December 2 with an exhibition When Bardfield came to Walden. See www.fryartgallery.org.
