A COMMUNITY fundraising event in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care is being held in Saffron Walden next month.

Lady Sylvia Morrow will be opening her beautiful gardens and having a hog roast on Saturday July 4 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm at Broadacres, Seven Devils Lane.

Lady Morrow's decision comes as a 'thank you' to Marie Curie Cancer Care for the care her husband received by nurse and friend, Anne Harlow.

She said: "Anne made such a difference to us, besides the wonderful care she gave my husband. She liaised between the doctors on our behalf and told us what to expect at such a difficult time for us all."

Lady Morrow has donated the hog roast and the drinks for the event, and there will also be a raffle. Tickets cost 20 per adult and 10 for under-16s, which includes food and drink.

To purchase tickets contact Anne Hillion at Marie Curie Cancer Care's Essex Fundraising Office on 01920- 468956 or anne.hillion@mariecurie.org.uk
