Linton Village College students set a new school record for the number of A* or A grades at GCSE.
Thirty six per cent of all grades were either A* or A, beating last year’s figure of 34 per cent.
Overall, 94 per cent of students gained five ‘good’ A*-C grades, while 75 per cent got the government target of five A*-C grades including English and maths.
Principal Caroline Derbyshire said: “In an academic year blighted by political interference with GCSE exams, it is heartening for our students and parents to know that exam results at Linton Village College remain outstanding.
“The class of 2014 thoroughly deserves its success and we wish them every happiness and fulfilment in the future.”
There were a number of impressive individual achievements. Adam Bowie, Daniel Galvin and Jonah Munday all got a complete set of A and A* grades, while Adam also gained an A grade in AS level French a year early.
Sarah Cooper picked up a full set of 11 A* grades as well as an A in the free standing maths qualification and grade eight flute.
