IN the run up to Christmas, people are being urged not to forget to give blood as there are many hospital patients who depend on regular donations.
Donated blood has a shot shelf life so it is vital that both regular and new donors come forward to give blood and ensure sufficient supply is available for patients.
Anyone aged between 17 and 65, weighing more than 50kg (7st 12lbs) and in general good health could potentially start donating blood. There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years. To book an appointment call the donor line on 0300 123 2323 or visit www.blood.co.uk
