Great Dunmow Primary School has a new defibrillator, thanks to donations from a local charity and a real estate developer.

Both Great Dunmow Round Table and Wickford Development Company contributed towards an automated external defibrillator (AED) for the school.

Head teacher Kevin Watts, said: “Staff attend first aid courses and part of the training is how to use an AED so it made sense to have one on site.

“Fortunately, we have never needed to use a defibrillator but we are always looking at ways of trying to safeguard pupils and staff. This is one piece of equipment that hopefully we will never use. I felt it was important to have one on site for the school and for the people who use our facilities.”
