ADVENTUROUS walkers are being offered the chance to raise money for Essex Air Ambulance by trekking along the Great Wall of China next year.

Last month a Himalayan hike raised £42,000 for the helicopter service and organisers are hoping next year's challenge will generate more cash.

Jean Twin, fund-raising and operations manager, said: "Having just completed the Himalaya trek, I think I speak for all the trekkers when I say that the challenge was hard work but also very exhilarating.

"Undertaking an overseas trek is certainly not an opportunity to be missed."

The event takes place from May 10 to May 19 next year. To find out more call fund-raising co-ordinator Nezda Blyth on 01787 221828.
