AFTER 23 years maintaining the impressive landscape at the Chesterford Research Park, groundsman Mick Player has retired.

The park management team threw a party for Mick and colleagues as a fond farewell.

Mick has lived all his life in Saffron Walden and plans to indulge his hobbies in retirement, including photography and visiting historic attractions.

Park manager at Chesterford, Katherine Maguire, said: “Mick has been a loyal and enthusiastic member of the park team and while we hope he enjoys a well-earned rest. We will certainly miss him.”
