Young Jake Smith was brave to stand so close to a vampire who was part of Stansted Mountfitchet Castle’s Hallowe’en trail.

The venue says the half-term was so popular that it is to become an annual event and be even bigger and better next year.

Spokesman Juliet Milton said: “The event has been a great success, we have had several thousands of visitors already this week and we still have four more days to go. The favourite part has definitely been the wow factor from the 60ft Pumpkin Man which we hope will go in the Guinness Book of Records.”
