Dozens of Harry Potter fans queued outside Hart’s Books in Saffron Walden at midnight on Saturday (July 30) to be the first to get their hands on the script of the new West End production.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has sold-out the West End and publication of the script was intended for fans who may not be able to see the stage play.
The script was written by Jack Thorne and approved by Potter author J.K.Rowling, and is already tipped to become the year’s biggest-selling book.
Max Shorter, manager at Hart’s, said: “The event went really well and it was much busier than expected.
“We sold 20 copies on the night and have sold 50 so far. It was a fun evening and people, as well as our staff, dressed up for the occasion.”
