HAND-MADE jam, home-grown grapes, eggs, bread and an armful of sweetcorn were among many wonderful things which children at Dame Bradbury’s School brought to their Harvest Festival assembly.
HAND-MADE jam, home-grown grapes, eggs, bread and an armful of sweetcorn were among many wonderful things which children at Dame Bradbury’s School brought to their Harvest Festival assembly.
The produce was sold to parents at the end of the day and, though money is still coming in, the children have already raised almost �500 to be divided between the Saffron Walden-based charity, British Aid for Deprived Children, run by George Mills, and the Pakistan Flood Appeal.
The Harvest Festival assembly was run by Dame Bradbury’s Year Six pupils, who explained all about the Jewish Feast of the Tabernacles and decorated a Jewish sukkot with leaves and harvest produce.
At the end of the Assembly the whole audience – pupils, parents and staff – joined in with the dancing
