Here is your weekly round-up of crimes across Uttlesford

• A life-size cut-out of William Shakespeare was stolen from the Saffron Walden library in King street between 12.30-3.22pm on May 23.

• Items were stolen and a home ransacked during a break-in at a property in Rowntree Way, Saffron Walden, which took place between 4.30-9.08pm on May 19.

• A would-be burglar tried to jemmy open an outbuilding at a premises in Cutlers Green, Thaxted, between midnight on May 13 and 2.17pm on May 20.

• A bike (pictured) has been recovered by police in Braintree and is believed to have been stolen. Contact Pc Andrew Christian at Braintree police station on 101 if you recognise it.

• A home in Smiths Green, Debden, was ransacked and property stolen during a burglary between 9.30am-2.13pm on May 18.

• A blue Renault Trafic was keyed in Tukes Way, Saffron Walden, between 8pm on May 20 and 8.32pm the following day.

• The rear number plate was stolen from a vehicle parked in Harrisons, Birchangerm between 8.30am on May 18 and 9.52am on May 22.

• Would-be shed burglars were disturbed and made off empty-handed during a raid at a home in Stickling Green, Clavering, between 1am and 3.17am on May 22.

• Items were stolen from a white Lexus 300H parked in Broomfields, Hatfield Heath, between 1.40am and 10.42pm on May 22.

• Bricks were used by burglars to smash their way into a home in Forest Hall Road, Stansted, between 12.30-5.01pm on May 22. Pen and a cash were stolen.

• Two safes were smashed with a sledgehammer and jewellery taken from a home in Finchingfield Road, The Sampfords, between 11am-12.03pm on May 22. The window forced open by the burglar was also sprayed.

• A large amount of fuel was siphoned from a DAF lorry parked in Dunmow Road, Birchanger, between 10pm on May 22 and 7.42am the next day.

• A bike worth £80 was stolen from the rear garden of a home in Rush Lane, Elsenham, between 2am on May 14 and 7.07am on May 23.

• Drawers were thrown about as a home in Haydens End, Felsted, was ransacked during a burglary that took place between 6am and 8.39pm on May 22. A computer was stolen during the raid.

• An energiser, extension cable and outdoor light were stolen from land in Duck End, Stebbing, between 9am and 6.13pm on May 23.

• Lead was stolen from the vestry roof in Church Lane, Wenden Lofts, between 11.30am on May 21 and 8.31am on May 23.

• Riding tack was stolen during a break-in at a property in Gartons, Hatfield Broad Oak between 10am on May 23 and 3.30pm the next day.

• Four outbuildings were searched, but nothing stolen, from a property in Crabbs Green, Hatfield Broad Oak, between 5pm on May 23 and 9.38am the next day.

• A silver Citroen Relay had a lock drilled in an attempt to break-in while it was parked in Broomfields, Hatfield Heath, between 1.34-8.14am on May 23. Nothing was stolen.

• The rear number plate was stolen from a blue Ford Fiesta parked in Green Road, Newport, between 7pm on May 23 and 12.59pm the next day. An attempt to steal the front plate failed.

• Joyce Frankland Academy, in Cambridge Road, Newport, had a window smashed between midnight and 4.30pm on May 24. Nothing was stolen.

• Cash and jewellery were stolen from a home in Harris Yard, Saffron Walden, during a break-in between 2-3.18pm on May 23.

• A burglary took place at a home in Canfield Road, High Roding, between 12am on May 23 and 11.39am the next day.

• Burglars attempted to break into a home in Ross Close, Saffron Walden, between 8.40am-3.35pm on May 25.

• A car was stolen from outside the owner’s home in Goodwins Close, Little Canfield, between 6.15pm on May 24 and 8.09am the following day.

• Burglars forced their way into a home in Brent Hall Road, Finchingfield, through double-glazed patio doors between 11-11.19am on May 22. It is not know what was stolen.
