The Reporter is playing cupid this week as we bid to track down Saffron Walden’s “most romantic” couple.
Catherine and James, pictured, were just one of many loved-up couples who shared a Valentine’s smooch in a kissing booth outside Saks hairdressers, in King Street, on Saturday.
And they were chosen as the most romantic by the orchestrator of all the love in the air – Claire Ashman-Smith, of Ickleton-based florists Waterbaby Flowers. She came up with an idea to have the booth, which she hires out for weddings and parties. Couples were photographed together with props such as stick-on moustaches and silly hats.
“Catherine and James were chosen for being such good sports and getting so excited when they saw all the props,” Claire said. “I’ve posted a message on my Facebook page to say they’ve won a makeover for two at Saks and a bouquet from Waterbaby Flowers but so far they haven’t been in touch. Let’s hope between us we can track them down!”
