BRITAIN’S biggest union, Unite, will today (Thursday August 12) hold a press conference at 4pm to announce the ballot result in their dispute with British Airport Authority (BAA).
The union has balloted 6185 staff including security staff, engineers, firefighters and support staff at BAA airports including Heathrow, Stansted, Southampton, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
If the staff choose to strike it could mean that BAA will have to close airports later this month at a peak time for holidaymakers.
The press conference will be addressed by: Brian Boyd and Brendan Gold, Unite national officers.
Come back to this website for the result later.
