HOMES were evacuated and a 200 metre exclusion zone put in place after a car collided with a gas main and electricity pole in Great Easton.
Fire crews from Thaxted and Dunmow were called to the incident, on the B184, at about 6.20pm yesterday (Tuesday July 2).
The gas and electricity board were also called.
