Hundreds of people turned out for a “fantastic” day of running and fundraising.
The popular Ashdon 3k & 10k, organised by the Ashdon Primary School PTA, was held on Monday. A total of 284 ruuners took part in the 3k fun run, while a record number – over 200 – competed in the 10k which was won by Saffron Strider Andrew Mynott.
A final total has yet to be confirmed but organisers estimate the event has so far raised £4,400 with monies still coming in. All money raised is used and by the primary school.
Tracy Balcombe of the PTA fun run committee said: “It was a fantastic day, with no hiccups. The atmosphere was great and of course all the homemade cakes were gobbled up.
“We would like to say thank you to our sponsors – Holroyd, Cheffins, The Foot Health Clinic and Ford Wells Construction Group.”
