A jazz singer from Stocking Pelham, near Clavering, will star in the battle rounds of The Voice this weekend, going up against another contestant on the ITV talent show.
Georgie Braggins, 21, got through the blind auditions on January 14 after two judges spun their chairs round following her version of Ella Fitzgerald’s Every Time We Say Goodbye.
Georgie, a music teacher, chose to be mentored by American singer and actress Jennifer Hudson ahead of former Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale.
All four judges, Hudson, Rossdale, Sir Tom Jones, and will i am, will pit their 10 chosen artists against each other in a musical duel this weekend to halve their numbers.
The two contestants will share the stage and sing the same song in front of the judges and audience.
The Voice UK airs this Saturday night (February 25) at 8.30pm and returns on Sunday night at 7pm, with the winners going forward to the live knockout rounds.
